Voters approved Article 19, appropriating $1,600,000 from water retained earnings to fund the design and engineering of treatment facilities for the Depot and Tremont wells. The project aims to address "forever chemicals," or PFAS, along with high levels of iron and manganese.

Consultant Brian Weiner of Tighe & Bond explained that the town is working toward a 2031 state compliance deadline. The goal of this funding is to have a treatment plant online by early 2030. The article passed nearly unanimously with 141 in favor and 3 opposed.

Motion: To appropriate $1,600,000 from water retained earnings.
